Origin and Development of Po/Almina Maha Vidyalaya

Polonnaruwa of the North Central Province, known as Rajarata Rajdhani, where the ancient kings ruled

Manikambitti is a village of Eghil Miku, which is spreading greenery, 3 km east of the town of Katuruwela in the district.

The village is surrounded by trees, rivers and fields.

It is a beautiful village with natural resources. The light curtain of our village will open the intellectual eyes of our society

The key  is our Public/Almina Maha Vidyalaya.


The idea is to open the intellectual eyes of the people here and to solve the educational thirst of the students

As an expression, on 08.03.1969, within the premises where the present school is situated, the Gram Munnetra Sangam came to know.

A song started in the building. The first chancellor was U.D. Mukaidin Bawa was also the first student of A.I

Rs. Muhammad Nizam was also seen. The school started with 135 students and grade 01 in the school

Classes from 1st to 05 were also seen. Initially, only one assistant teacher was on duty with the principal. 1973.03.27

It is historic for this school to win the award by winning first place in the sports competition

At present, this college has been upgraded from an arts college to a Maha Vidyalaya this year. 605 here
